From Grand River Brewing,

Pumpkins for the Highballer Pumpkin Ale are all grown by our owner Bob Hannenberg in his Garden. This classic seasonal beer makes the perfect complement to any meal and adds a festive spice to any fall occasion.

Appearance | Slightly opaque and light orange with a white head that settles into lacing.

Smell | Cinnamon, pumpkin, ginger, cloves and nutmeg.

Taste | Roasted pumpkin, brown sugar, ginger, malts, cinnamon, and dash of pumpkin pie spice.

Aftertaste | All-spice and pumpkin.

Overall | This is a really light-bodied brew which has a settled and mild pumpkin profile. It doesn’t taste overwhelmingly like a sweet pumpkin pie like some pumpkin brews do. The most dominant flavour is cinnamon.  It may appeal to the beer drinker who prefers lighter beer, and is nervous about trying something seasonal. It’s very enjoyable and would be a great compliment at the family’s Thanksgiving dinner.

Food Pairing | Thanksgiving dinner, curries, or a charcuterie platter.

LCBO Inventory | $3.95 | 500ml
