From Railway City Brewing Co.,

Canada Southern Draft presents with a light straw colour and a nice white frothy head. The nose is subtle with a slight graininess and an aromatic citrus lead.  The flavour is dominated by hops with light malty depth. The mouth-feel is a very effervescent with the typical lager snap and clean finish.

Appearance | Clear gold with a lacy, white head.

Smell | Grains, corn, fruit, honey, yeast, and malts.

Taste | Honey, yeast, honey, grains, malts, and fruit.

Aftertaste | Corn, grains, and honey.

Overall | This is a new offering from Railway City Brewing Co. that has popped up at LCBOs relatively recently.  This is a very light-bodied, crisp brew that has illusive flavours of grains, honey, berries, and sweet malts.  At 4.3%, this is a sessionable brew for the avid light-bodied brew drinking crowd.  There’s some sweetness up-front, but it’s not overpowering.  Thirst- quenching as it is, it might be best consumed in warmer weather as a patio treat.  While it is decent, this brew does not provide much excitement; there is nothing daring or adventurous about its flavour.  That said, check out Dead Elephant IPA from these guys, it is a fantastic brew.

Food Pairing | Hoagies, Burgers, and Sausage on the buns.
