From Railway City Brewing Co.,

The Witty Traveller’s tale opens with a potpourri of spices and fruit – sweet anise seed and subtle orange rind. As you delve deeper into the libation you discover clove and bananas alongside soft and sweet arrowroot biscuit with a short layover of bubble-gum before cleansing fresh-pepper and gingersnap.

Appearance | Hazy, clear, golden-yellow, with very small white head.

Smell |  Tartness, orange, tropical citrus, and hint of biscuits.

Taste |  Tartness, orange zest, bananas, cloves, hints of biscuit and hint of pepper.

Aftertaste | Dry finish with notes of citrus, zest, pepper, and bananas.

Overall |  First off, The Brew Head would like to thank Marissa Begin (@thebeergypsy) of Railway City Brewing Co. for bringing this delicious brew to Guelph, ON for me to sample.   You’re a witty traveller from Ottawa to St. Thomas to Guelph to Ottawa!  Back to the brew, The Witty Traveller is a light, fruity, and tart brew that will be very enjoyable in the warm weather.   The high carbonation and tartness in this brew make it a brew that is light on the palate.   Don’t let the pepper taste deter you, it compliments the flavours well.  This delicious beer is, not surprisingly, a creation of Railway City Brewing Co. They are also responsible for a personal favourite,  Dead Elephant IPA.  The Brew Head wouldn’t be surprised if The Witty Traveller gets future Ontario Craft Beer drinkers hooked, too.

Note: The Witty Traveller will be hitting selected LCBOs shortly.
