Welly Re-Booted Mix Pack Vol. 5 from Wellington Brewery

Yet another mix pack of the Welly Re-Booted series is being released and it’s more like Fall in a Box, if you ask me.   Let’s go through this mix pack!

What is the Re-Booted series?  Well, Wellington Brewery does all these one-offs at the brewery but no way to get to the mainstream, this is their way of getting consumers to try these one-offs.   Personally, I love these mix packs.   You can pick this mix-pack at the LCBOs, The Beer Store, and Brewery (Retail Store and Online!)

What’s in this series?

Ice Eater, a single hop chinook pale ale that features locally grown Chinook hops, this single hop pale ale has a biscuit malt body upfront with an assertive yet balanced hop finish featuring notes of spice and pine.

Candle Burner, a Cold Brew Coffee IPA that has been brewed with Ethiopian Sidamo coffee from Planet Bean.  This unique IPA is pale gold in colour and balances enticing cold brew coffee notes with a punch of hops.

Spice Odyssey, a Chai Latte Stout that was created and brewed by the all-women Queen of Craft crew.  This unique stout has a creamy malt body with black tea and chai spices including cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.   Also, 25 cents from each bottle of Spice Odyssey sold will go to support Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, a great cause to support.

Lastly, we have a Wellington Brewery Classic, Imperial Russian Stout, a bold, full-bodied that is jet black in colour with inviting aroma of dark chocolate and coffee, complex roasted malt and toffee flavours, and a smooth well-balanced finish.   You can actually pick this up year-around in tallboys and bottles.  It’s, in my opinion, one of the best Ontario Imperial Stouts that you can grab these days.

If you’re in the Guelph area, you can actually just pick up single bottles at the brewery (so if you want more Spice Odyssey, go for it!)

Here’s my review of the Spice Odyssey featured on The Beer Program below;

On a side note, I would like to thank Karyn and Wellington Brewery for providing me a sample of the Welly Re-Booted Volume 5.  Thanks for the #BeerMail!
